Visiting Folks

Well I just came back from Halfmoon bay on the Sunshine Coast of BC. Those ferry rides sure are something. It wasn't bad on the way. The two ferries connected alright. On the way back though I was left having to wait two hours after seeing the ferry I wish I could catch leave the terminal 5 minutes before my arrival from Langdale.
Anyway, it was fun no matter what. On Sat. me and the old man decided to go out boating to try out his new 130 hp Honda. After discovering it was a bit heavy for the transom I suggested a sandbag or two to keep it a bit more bow heavy. No matter anyway, we got out to our destination and dropped the prawn traps and decided to try our luck fishing. We only fished for a couple hours as it was a bit rough and a bit cold. Caught nothing in the process. Our attention was on getting prawns anyway. After a couple hours we pulled the traps. Not a bad catch as there was only 3 of us eating. We got around 50 prawns so it was enough for a meal. Unfortunatly though that was between 4 traps so when it's all put together it really wasn't the greatest of catches. It was a good meal when we got home anyway.
The next day (Superbowl Sunday) we consentrated on installing a brand new cd player and speakers into the boat. After accomplishing our goal within a couple hours we then went in to watch the super bowl on the big screen. What a game it was. Extremely close but New York came out as champions.
The next day it was back to the island for a bit of reality.

Well, here she is. Like I said though, she's not the most beautiful boat. She's got the tarp over her now for the winter. I'll get a picture in the summer when she looks a bit better.

We got this really close picture of a baby seal on the dock at Hakai Lodge in 2007.
